Assignment #4 and #5:

Chapter 1:
  • Gives every character a brief description
  • Starts out with everyone getting a letter from U.N. Owen to come to Indian Island
Chapter 2:
  • They all start to meet each other on the way to Indian Island
  • They all begin their stay on Indian Island after the boat took them over
Chapter 3:
  • They go to dinner and notcie ten little china figurines on the table
  • From the gramaphone they are all accused of murder crimes
  • Mrs. Rogers faints and then they give her a mild sedative and send her to bed
  • They find out they they have been invited by a lunatic U.N. Owen or "UNKNOWN"
Chapter 4:
  • Everyone starts to confess that they technically killed them but most of the deaths were accidental and not their fault
  • They all decided to leave the Island next morning
  • Anthony Marston has a drink of his beverage and he starts to choke, falling to the ground
Chapter 5:
  • Anthony Marston dies
  • They find out he died of Cyanide
  • They think it was suicidal
  • Mr. Rogers finds that there are no longer 10 china figurines
Chapter 6:
  • They find out in the morning that Mrs. Rodgers died
  • Everyone notices that the boat hasn't come from the mainland for a while
  • Emily Brent thinks Mrs. Rodgers died of fear
  • Mr. Blore and General Macarthur both think that the boat won't pick them up because they are all going to stay on the Island and never leave(die).
  • Now Mr. Rodgers tells Dr. Armstrong that there are now only eight china figurines.
Chapter 7:
  • As Vera and Emily were on the summit Emily talked about how she technically killed Beatrice Taylor which in fact she did not kill her because Beatrice killed herself
  • Rodgers and Lombard get to talking and are going to go on an expedition to find U.N. Owen.
Chapter 8:

    • Start a plot line. Identify the setting first.
    • Add two or three key events from each chapter to reflect the rising action.
    • Identify each chapter and put the two or three events as bullet points under the chapter number.

Assignment #3??? 4?? If you need to stay in at recess to start working on this, please do! You're pretty far behind and it's going to take lots of work to get caught up this week.

    • Find four examples of suspense OR foreshadowing in chapter two.
    • Write the exact wording from the book - that means type the sentences exactly as they are written.
    • In a well-written paragraph, explain why these sentences clearly show either suspense or foreshadowing.
